Many of you have probably seen this popular infographic on social media, the one about what we think makes us productive, vs what really makes us productive. When faced with a deadline, a big exam or an important project, we assume that the best use of our time is to simply power through it by working hard and taking no breaks. We may even skimp on sleep and exercise and eat junk food out of stress.
In reality, these other components - time off, healthy eating, sleep & exercise -- are just as important (if not more important) in helping us perform at the highest level.
This is why Adventure Planner includes a full spread to help you plan your self-care routine. Whenever you feel like you’re running on empty, do one or more of the items on your self-care routine to “fill your cup” and make you feel whole again.
To help you get started, here are some of our favorite self care ritual ideas.
Start a Meditation Practice
Take a few minutes each day to breathe deeply and quiet your mind. There are many meditation apps if you need some guidance.

A yoga class or just a few deep stretches can help relieve any aches and pains you may have developed from sitting at a desk for long periods of time.
Take a Hike
Hiking is one of the best ways for relieving stress. Let the power of nature therapy and sunshine restore you. Nature has a way of reminding us that our problems are insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
